Obama Gambles With Race Cards

Why has President Obama not spoken out against the rush to judgement regarding the role race played in the Trayvon Martin case? The race cards are being dealt at a fast and furious rate. Here’s just a few examples:

The Hill reporting on Rep. Maxine Waters, “The evidence really points to a fact that you had a gung-ho so-called Neighborhood Watchman who wanted to be a cop, basically, who was following a young black man who was unarmed and had committed no crime,” Waters said. “That’s pretty stiff evidence that this is possibly a hate crime”

Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) had to leave the House floor because he gave a speech in a sweatshirt, hoodie and sunglasses in protest of the Trayvon Martin killing.

Al Sharpton is on record stating Trayvon Martin was killed because he was black, implying the crime was racially motivated, thus a hate crime. Just yesterday, the Boston Herald reported “Al Sharpton says he will call for an escalation in peaceful civil disobedience and economic sanctions,” if an arrest is not made regarding the Martin case.

And these are just sound bites of speeches. It gets uglier.

Hashim Nzinga, a convicted felon and a leader of the New Black Panthers, issued a $10,000 reward for the capture of George Zimmerman. Authorities have not charged Zimmerman with a crime, mind you, but apparently because the Black Panthers say so, he’s on America’s Most Hunted. I’m not sure where you stand, but to me, that’s just wrong. Was the reward a silly stunt? Perhaps. But, make note, Nzinga was arrested March 27th for possession of a firearm at, get this, the probation office to which he was required to report. If you want to pass off a convicted felon that carries a pistol to a probation meeting as silly, that’s your call. But I see a man that has utter contempt for society, ignores authority and cares little about an arrest record. To me, that’s not a silly man, that’s a dangerous one.

Spike Lee, a Hollywood director, actually then tweets a residential address as a lead for those that wish to cash in on the bounty. No matter it was inaccurate. Lee showed the world he supports the Black Panthers and others of similar make-up. He wasn’t giving the tip to law enforcement, they know where Zimmerman is if they want him. And you don’t actually think a dentist or store clerk will act on it, do you? No, clearly the tip was sent to guys like Nzinga. The tweet was meant to cause harm. I’ll ask you, is Lee just a concerned citizen? Or is he a race-parasite promoting his cause while hiding in his penthouse hi-rise?

I have yet to hear one leader speak out against the bounty. Have you? I have yet to hear one leader publicly reprimand Lee. How can that be? Who’s in charge of this mad-house? Where’s President Obama?

Oh, yes, that’s right, Obama did mention something. “You know, if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.” In other words, he’d be black. But we know he’s black. So, why say it? It’s a back-handed way to imply the killing was racially motivated.

“All of us have to do some soul-searching to figure out how does something like this happen…” Obama rambled on. All of us? Why do I have to do soul-searching, I didn’t kill him. Nor did the entire population of America, except George Zimmerman. But for Obama it’s much better to lump us all together, with general labels and sound-bite definitions.

Ronald Kessler, at Newsmax.com, wrote on March 26th,

Obama is supposedly a constitutional lawyer but pronounces guilt before indictment and trial, says John L. Martin, a former FBI agent who headed Justice Department espionage prosecutions for nearly 25 years. As a young agent, Martin was one of the lead investigators of the murders of three civil rights workers in Mississippi in 1964.

There is no such thing as a presumption of innocence, Martin says. Instead, Obama accuses all non-black humanity of what may be the wrongful acts of one individual. There is no such thing as individual responsibility or individual accountability. We are all responsible for pulling the trigger.

Are you surprised? You shouldn’t be. Obama has a track record of playing the race card.

Kessler, in a separate article based upon his review of the book, “The Obamas” by Jodi Kantor, paints the picture of a president stuck in the 60’s mind-set. An angry leader that “…attributes criticism of his policies to prejudice against blacks.”

It not that Obama’s policies are just lame, it has to be racial prejudice. This sounds a lot like what we’ve been hearing from Sharpton, Jackson and the media over the last couple of weeks, doesn’t it? Trayvon Martin can’t be dead because one human killed another, it has to be racially motivated, it’s white America killing black men.

Remember Harvard Professor Henry Gates, Jr. and his arrest? Gates locked himself out of his house one night. A neighbor, while Gates was attempting to gain re-entry, phoned the police to report a possible break-in. Obama didn’t wait for facts before he played his race card when he said, “I don’t know – not having been there and not seeing all the facts – what role race played in that, but I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home.” Except Gates, a known provocateur, didn’t get arrested for attempted burglary. The charge was disorderly conduct. What got him arrested wasn’t his race, it was his mouth.

The reality is inserting race as a motivation to whip up the crowd works a lot faster than waiting on facts. So does ignoring things that don’t play into the whites hate blacks narrative. If Sharpton and Jackson are truly civil-rights activists, shouldn’t they condemn the Black Panther bounty in hopes of protecting Zimmerman and his rights? Yet they said nothing. Are they civil-rights activists for all citizens, or just blacks? Obama, for his part, could have called on Lee to do some soul-searching rather than white America. But that card doesn’t make a winning hand in the whites hate blacks poker game.

Where was Obama, or any of these self-proclaimed civil-rights activists when Melissa Coon’s son, a white 13-year-old, was set on fire by two black 16-year-olds?

Where were the racial injustice rallies last April, when two white UK student-tourists were murdered in Florida by a black man?

Recall Nidal Malik Hasan, the Islāmic extremist who killed 16 at Fort Hood? Obama took to the microphone and here’s what he said, “This morning I met with FBI Director Mueller and the relevant agencies to discuss their ongoing investigation into what caused one individual to turn his gun on fellow servicemen and women,” he said. “We don’t know all of the answers yet, and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all of the facts.”

Interesting that Obama says we shouldn’t jump to conclusions regarding whether Malik-Hasan was a terrorist, but it’s perfectly okay for Obama to jump to the conclusion that race was involved during Professor Gates’ arrest. He’ll ignore a black killing two whites or a white teen getting set a blaze by two black attackers but is perfectly comfortable with implying Zimmerman had racial bias.

President Obama, like Spike Lee, the Black Panthers, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others, bets big on any opportunity to claim angry white America is attacking black America. And yet, conveniently passes on opportunities to address racial crime when blacks are the perpetrators and whites are the victims. The dealer may have changed, but the American people have seen this card game before.

America today, with prominent black members in Congress, business and academia, isn’t perfect, but it is hardly the America of decades ago. In fact, the whites hate blacks narrative put forth by Obama, Jackson, Sharpton and others is so pathetically inaccurate it’s obvious they cheating and trying to play from a stacked deck.

Obama was elected, with white voter support, because of a yearning for something new. Is this it? Is his idea of change, besides his economic attacks on industry, to deliver a 1960’s racial narrative? It’s a shame he decided to play race this way.

Obama is the first black President in the history of the United States. But rather than play it straight he wants to deal his race cards from a stacked deck to push the country into racial outlooks applicable some 5 decades ago. It’s a high risk, high reward bet. If the cards fall his way, he motivates his base and gets re-elected. However, if America sees his play for what it is and calls his bluff, he loses it all in November.
